Code of Conduct

PERSONAL FITNESS – AS A YSAR MEMBER I MUST:

  • be physically fit
  • be in good general health
  • be aware of my own limitations and act appropriately
  • be able to carry a pack of at least 10kg over difficult terrain for at least two days
  • be committed to the program with an attendance rate of greater than 85%

TRAINING – AS A YSAR MEMBER I MUST:

  • be available for weekly training nights and weekend exercises
  • attend training courses and exercises in order to attain and maintain the skills required for course completion
  • keep a logbook of my training experiences
  • ensure that information related to personal fitness and relevant health problems are conveyed to the appropriate person within the organisation. This especially applies to changes in fitness or health status. (Completion of YSAR Medical Form)
  • notify all changes of contact details to the appropriate YSAR leader
  • supply as required for use on exercises, appropriate food, clothing and equipment
  • pay course fees in a timely manner 
  • attend training courses and exercises in order to attain and maintain the skills required for YSAR graduation. 85% attendance is required

BEHAVIOUR – AS A YSAR MEMBER I MUST:

  • only use appropriate behaviour and language on the radios
  • treat with respect all equipment supplied by YSAR and other people
  • treat other members and leaders with respect. During YSAR activities there must be no; violent behaviour, inappropriate sexual activity or inappropriate relationships
  • not consume alcohol or illegal substances during YSAR activities
  • not use or have in my possession IPod type devices during YSAR Exercises or activities
  • avoid behaviour which could discredit YSAR or the Tauranga SAR Group or attract adverse publicity for either groups.
  • abide by the YSAR Leave No Trace Policy when in the bush/mountains.
 

I understand that my YSAR membership will be reviewed in the event of unsatisfactory attendance or one or more breaches of this Code of Conduct.
