YSAR Trust is thrilled to announce the recent partnership with Navico Group, a leading provider of marine electronics, to upgrade their battery system at the Youth Search and Rescue Training Centre in the Kaimai Ranges.
Previously, YSAR has had to rely on donated lead acid batteries, which have proven to be unreliable and difficult to manage with multiple users at the training facility. However, with Navico Group’s generosity, they were able to provide a full upgrade to the battery systems with a Mastervolt Lithium Ion set.
The Mastervolt MLI Ultra batteries were selected because of their ability to run heavy loads for extended periods at the training facility. Navico Group provided the batteries at a heavily discounted price, ensuring a reliable and sustainable system for YSAR’s operations. As a result of this upgrade, YSAR now only has to run their generator for two hours per weekend, compared to the previous requirement of running the generator for 12 hours or more.
